Mark Forsberg practices primarily in the areas of general litigation, commercial, business and construction law, employment matters, land use and municipal law and is a partner in the firm.
Mr. Forsberg received his Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Colorado (Boulder) in 1976 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1983 while pursuing a 14-year career as a sports journalist at the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News. He began his law career as a clerk to the Honorable Brent Adams of the Second Judicial District Court of the State of Nevada in 1990, then joined the Carson City District Attorney’s office. Mr. Forsberg has extensive state and federal civil rights litigation experience gained as the Chief Civil Deputy District Attorney of Carson City during 13 years in that office and in private practice and has argued numerous cases before the Nevada Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He entered private practice in 2005 with the firm of Scarpello & Huss in Carson City and joined with Rick Oshinski in founding Oshinski & Forsberg in 2015.
Mr. Forsberg is presently District Counsel to the East Fork Fire Protection District. In that capacity he provides general counsel, negotiates collective bargaining agreements and litigates on behalf of the District. He also serves as general counsel to the East Fork Swimming Pool District.
Mr. Forsberg is licensed to practice law in Nevada and Oklahoma and holds Wyoming and Colorado licenses currently on inactive status. He is admitted to practice before all Nevada state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Nevada, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
